STUDENT SURVEY


The Academic Calendar and System Committee is seeking your input regarding the academic calendar, quarters and semesters.


1. The Academic Calendar
We have been asked to consider possible changes to the academic calendar—that is, when we begin the academic year, when we end the academic year, and when we have breaks. As you all know, currently we begin in early September, have a long break in the winter, and end around mid-June. We want to know what you think is most important when it comes to the academic calendar. Please rank the following three options in order of importance, with 1 = most important; 2 = next in importance, and 3 = least important:

We have also been asked to consider whether we should remain on the quarter system or move to a semester system. Previous research and feedback from constituents at Ohio University have identified perceived advantages and disadvantages of quarters and semesters.
